George is a curious monkey, and one day he goes out with his good friend—the man with the yellow hat. They sit on a park bench and find a kitten. They decide that the kitten should be taken to the animal shelter, and then we see what happens when George's curiosity really takes hold. He is captivated by the puppies, and before you know it, he has let them out of their cage and my goodness they are into everything. As the man with the yellow hat and the director of the shelter gather them all up, they notice the mother dog barking at a door. One of the puppies had gotten away earlier in the day and hidden in the closet, now he is rescued and joins the rest of his family. George is instrumental in bringing about a happy ending, and, what is more, he ends up taking one of the puppies home. George is really very much like any curious two or three year-old. 作者简介

Hans Augusto Rey was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1898. As a child, he spent much of his free time in that city's famous Hagenbeck Zoo drawing animals. After serving in the army during World War I, he studied philology and natural science at the University of Hamburg. He then married Margret Rey and they moved to Montmartre for four years. The manuscript for the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940. Eventually, they made their way to the United States, and Curious George was published in 1941. Curious George has been published in many languages, including French, German, Japanese, Afrikaans, and Norwegian. Additional Curious George books followed, as well as such other favorites as CECILY G. AND THE NINE MONKEYS and FIND THE CONSTELLATIONS.
